Caretakers Wanted - always!

We need Caretakers in our heritage precinct.
A tried and true method is Grey Nomads, whom we love!
Ideally, we would prefer a couple (but we don't discriminate; singles are okay)
with a mixture of skills to manage the precinct for us on a day-to-day basis for NO pay,
but in return for FOC site rental (caravan) and electricity.
If you think this could be the job for you, please read on....

OUR CARETAKERS SHOULD KNOW....

It's not rocket science, but it IS common sense and you need some get-up-and-go!

Our experience is that Grey Nomads are the best, and we appreciate
that you move on from time to time to meet family and social commitments,
or just because it's time to move on.

In the interim, we can offer you a site and electricity (it ain't Hollywood, but it's the best
address in the Top End - 'rustic', we call it) in return for your services of opening the museum, greeting tourists
and telling them about the precinct. You will need to be able to clean toilets and the station prior to opening
and occasional maintenance such as mowing and watering the garden (or fixing a fan, mower blade, etc).

Yes, you may have days off when you wish subject to arrangement with the Committee.
Yes, you are part of the family and we keep you informed of all our activities.
Yes, we appreciate your skill, time and effort, as you will appreciate ours. Our Caretakers have been SO taken
with the precinct that we have Return Caretakers, subject to their very busy Grey Nomad schedules.

Further, we can accommodate TWO couples (or singles) on separate sites so
one relieves the other when someone wants to head to the Big Smoke or just have some time off.
You should know that we tend to convert 'em to rail buffs (yuk, yuk, yuk - there's ALWAYS an ulterior motive).

Your hands will need to be on deck for Open Days, Picnic Days and other important events,
but you will also need to be there to meet and greet every day tourists who tend to be Stuart Highway travellers.

If this sounds like you and you are interested, we'd LOVE to hear from you.
Applicants will be required to undergo a Criminal History Check by the NT and Federal Police.

If you have a van, great people skills and genuine interest, we have the site and the precinct for you.
In the first instance, please E-mail your interest to rail@northernexposure.com.au
If you require further information prior to expressing interest, please phone Trevor on 0417 838578.

It really is a Top [End] job! Are you up for it?
